From about 150 irelands, 89 of them are parts of NP. Kornati gets their names from the biggest of irelands, KORNAT.

Kornati are caracteristic for poor vegetation, lack of water streams, crystal clean water, small bays.. The irelands are heaven for sailors and people inlove in undisturbed nature.

The irelands are not populated, local people from Murter keep the sheep on sites, grow olives and figs.
